Our Services

German Efficiency at Our Core

On the European side of our operations, Germany serves as the central logistics nerve center for ILKADIM Europe GmbH. Our choice of the Düsseldorf area for our main European operational base is strategic: Germany is the logistics capital of Europe, boasting world-class infrastructure and a central location. From this hub, we coordinate the import, warehousing, and distribution of goods to our various channels throughout Europe.

Seamless Transition to EU

Port of Entry & Customs Clearance

When goods arrive from Türkiye (or elsewhere) into the EU, our logistics operation ensures a seamless transition. For many shipments, Duisburg (near Düsseldorf) acts as a key arrival point, especially for containers coming via sea and then barge, being Europe’s largest inland port.

Additionally, we route some shipments through major seaports like Rotterdam or Hamburg; in those cases, we have freight forwarded directly by rail or truck to our German facilities. Germany’s customs authority is efficient, and since goods from Turkey carry ATR certificates (due to the customs union), they clear without duty.

Our team in Germany liaises closely with our customs brokers to pre-file import documents so that containers/trucks spend minimal time at the border. We also have EORI registration and use simplified customs procedures like bonded warehousing to make imports smooth.

The Heart of Distribution

Central European Warehouse

ILKADIM maintains a primary European warehouse in the logistics belt of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), not far from Düsseldorf and the Ruhr region. This warehouse is truly the heart of our European distribution.

It’s a modern facility, equipped with high racking, automated picking systems for smaller items, and ample docking bays for simultaneous loading/unloading of multiple trucks. Given that roughly 50% of EU’s purchasing power lies within 500 km of us, this warehouse is strategically positioned to reach customers quickly.

We stock here the inventory for all our channels: the same stock can fulfill an e-commerce order, a pallet for a retail chain’s delivery, and a case for a small shop via our distributors.

Precision & Forecasting

Inventory Management & Tech

We use an advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS) integrated with our enterprise resource planning (ERP). It tracks each SKU by lot, location, and status (available, reserved for an order, etc.).

We also utilize demand forecasting tools that take into account our sales data from all channels (marketplacesShop&Shop, retail orders) to predict stock needs and trigger reorders from Turkey proactively. The goal is to maintain optimal stock – enough to meet demand and buffer for lead times from Turkey, but not so much that we tie up capital unnecessarily.

For fast-moving items, we always keep a safety stock in Germany. The WMS also handles FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) for any perishable/dated items.

B2B & B2C Excellence

Order Fulfillment & Distribution

When an order comes in, whether it’s a bulk order from a chain or an individual online order, our German ops swing into action. We have dedicated picking teams for B2B vs B2C.

Bulk B2B orders: we palletize goods as per client requirements, label them, and arrange transport (we operate our own small fleet of delivery trucks for regional deliveries and use logistics partners like DHL, DB Schenker for longer distances).

For B2C, we have packing stations to box individual orders (including any branding inserts for Shop&Shop customers). Being in Germany, we can leverage the country’s excellent parcel network for quick deliveries – e.g., a package sent by 6 PM can reach anywhere in Germany by next day.

Connecting the Continent

Pan-European Reach

From our German hub, we can reach most of Europe efficiently. Western Europe: Truck shipments reach Benelux in hours, France within a day. We use regional cross-docks for efficiency in Italy or Spain.

Northern Europe: We utilize the dense highway network and rail freight options via Denmark. Eastern Europe: We leverage large European logistics providers’ hubs in Poland or Hungary for last-mile delivery.

UK/Ireland: Post-Brexit, we consolidate UK-bound shipments and handle customs formalities (UK VAT registration) to ensure smooth entry. Goods are often ferried from northern Europe to the UK.

Reverse Logistics & 3PL

Returns Handling & Partnerships

Handling returns effectively is key for e-commerce. We have a section in our German warehouse for checking, refurbishing, or repackaging returned products, ensuring inventory accuracy.

We have forged partnerships with 3PL (third-party logistics) partners in some countries for forward stocking during peak seasons (e.g., South Germany or France hubs) to shorten delivery times. We tap into fulfillment networks for smaller countries where direct distribution is less viable.
